Biography



DA CAPO STRING QUARTET

The Da Capo Quartet was formed in 2005 by students on the Postgraduate Chamber Music course at the Guildhall School pf Music and Drama (London). Winners in November 2005 of the Chartered Surveyors String Quartet Competition at the Guildhall School, they have also been awarded first prize in the Gerald Heller & Rosemary Rappaport Intercollegiate String Quartet Pirze 2006. They participate regularly in masterclasses with Ferenc Rados, David Albermann, the Takács, Heine and Belcea Quartets and collaborate with other young musicians, such as pianists Edward Pike, Tomasz Liz, soprano Rebecca Van Den Berg and violinist Julia McCarthy. They performe in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Barbican (Mostly Mozart Festival), St. John Smith Square, They also participated in the 2006 Paxos International Music Festival and in the London String Quartet Symposium 2007, were they worked with Seppo Kimanen, András Keller, Johannes Meissl, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Christoph Richter and Roger Tapping.
The Quartet has been awarded a scholarship for the Master's in Music Performance - Guildhall Artist Course at the Guildhall Scholl for the academic year 2006/2007.
